Award-winning director and screenwriter Aly Muritiba has had his films showcased at prestigious international festivals, such as Sundance ("Rust," 2018), Venice ("Tarântula," 2015; "Private Desert," 2021), San Sebastián ("To My Beloved Dead," 2015; "Rust," 2018), and La Semaine de la Critique at Cannes ("Patio," 2013). Throughout his career, Aly Muritiba's films have won more than 200 awards at film festivals around the world. His feature film "Private Desert" won the Audience Award at the Giornate degli Autori in Venice and was selected by the Brazilian Academy of Cinema as Brazil's official entry for Best International Feature Film at the 2022 Oscars. In 2013, his short film The Factory was shortlisted for an Oscar.
