Flora Dias is a Brazilian filmmaker and screenwriter. Her work moves between fiction and experimentation, exploring the ancestry of people and places, as well as the relationships between memory, nature and image. Her second feature film, The Intrusion (2023), premiered at the Berlinale Forum, where it was nominated for the Teddy Award. The film received the Hubert Bals Co-Production Fund and Visions Sud Est, and was awarded at festivals such as Queer Lisboa, Havana, Nuremberg and Olhar de Cinema. In 2025, she was filmmaker in residence at the DAAD in Berlin. In 2022, she took part in the “Filming in the Amazon” laboratory led by Apichatpong Weerasethakul. Her projects have been developed at labs such as BRLab, Ventana Sur and Novas Histórias. Her first feature, The Sun Against My Eyes (2013), premiered at the Mar del Plata Film Festival. She holds a degree from UFF, with studies at École Louis Lumière (France), and a Master’s from UFRJ, where she developed the essay-film Flamboyants.

Flora was awarded a fellowship to attend the Apichatpong Weerasethakul Lab: filming in the Amazon 2022.
