Maju de Paiva is a director and screenwriter, graduated from UFF. Her first feature film, Seaside Avenue, received the Best Director award at the Guadalajara International Film Festival and the Félix Award for Best Brazilian Film at the Rio Film Festival, and was also selected for festivals such as Havana and Giffoni. The film was released in theaters in 2024 and is available for streaming on Globoplay. The screenplay for Seaside Avenue was selected for the New Stories Lab and the Produire au Sud workshop, part of the Festival des 3 Continents in Nantes, France. It also received the Best Feature Screenplay award at FRAPA, was runner-up at the Cabíria Screenplay Award, and received the Elas Cabíria Seal. Her second feature film, Days of Fire, winner of the Riofilme New Directors Grant, is currently in post-production. Maju has also directed the short films Stray Animals and Carnation, Lily, Rose.
Maju was awarded a fellowship to attend the Produire au Sud 2021 workshop as the director of "Seaside Avenue".
