Bernardo Ale Abinader is a film director and screenwriter for Fita Crepe Filmes e Artes Cênicas, based in Manaus - AM. Graduated from Audio-visual Production Technology at UEA (State University of Amazonas), his film “The Boat and the River” (2020) premiered at the Gramado Festival, winning five prizes, and entered several national and international festivals, winning awards as the best short film by critics at Cine Ceará and special mention at Huesca International Film Festival in Spain. He is currently in the process of raising funds for his first feature film based on the short film “The Boat and the River” whose script was developed in Cena 15 at Porto Iracema das Artes school. The feature film project “The Boat and the River” won the prize for best pitching at MATAPI – a movie market event in the North of Brazil, and was presented at Talents Guadalajara in 2020. Bernardo is also a Master in Letters and an English teacher at the public school system in Manaus.
In 2021, Bernardo was awarded a fellowship to attend BAL-LAB, the Biarritz Festival's co-production market, as the director of "The Boat and the River".
