Born in Recife, Pernambuco, Daniel Bandeira started in audiovisual in 2001 through his production company, Símio Filmes. As an editor, he collaborated with several directors from Pernambuco, such as Kleber Mendonça Filho, Camilo Cavalcanti and Gabriel Mascaro. In 2007, he debuted as a screenwriter and director in a feature film with his film “Amigos de Risco”. Soon after, he directed the short film “Goodbye, Farewell” (2009) and co-directed the short films “Sob a Pele” (2011) and “Soledad” (2015). As an editor, he edited the films “The Devil's Knot” (2017), produced by Vermelho Profundo, and “Brazilian Dreams”, from director Marcelo Pedroso, for which he won the prize for Best Editing at the Festival de Brasília in 2014. “Property”, his second feature film, was selected for the Panorama section at the 73rd Berlinale, in 2023.

Daniel was awarded a fellowship to attend the Pop Up Film Residency 2023
