Déo Cardoso is a film director and screenwriter, graduated from the Instituto Dragao do Mar School of Dramaturgy (Fortaleza-CE-Brazil) and from the Ohio University Film School (USA), where he completed his master's degree (2002-2005) and where he won the Billman Fine Arts Award, for the screenplay of his thesis film Port of Rafts (2005). After writing and directing 5 short fiction films, with an emphasis on “Pode Me Chamar de Nadí” (2009), Déo Cardoso made his feature film debut in 2021 with “Cabeça de Nêgo”, which received an award for best film in the Mostra de Cinema de Gostoso (popular vote) and the Mostra Olhar do Ceara Award at the Cine-Ceará Film Festival. The film was also licensed by Globoplay platform, where it is in catalogue. As a screenwriter, he was part of the writers room for the limited series “Rota 66” (Boutique / Globoplay).

Déo received the Paradiso Award at the NordesteLAB 2021, with the feature screenplay "The Ocean's Eyes"
