Brazilian writer Duda de Almeida is the screenwriter of SINTONIA, Netflix’s first Brazilian series to reach the global top 1, and winner of the Best OTT/Pay-TV Series award at the Brazilian Cinema Grand Prix. She received the Best Comedy Script award from the Brazilian Screenwriters Association (ABRA) for LOV3 (Amazon) and wrote the miniseries As Aventuras José e Durval (Globo), which led in viewership in Brazil. At Netflix, Duda was a mentor for the Grow Creative program and a participant in the first Latin American Creators Retreat. In film, she wrote Angela (2023) and is preparing for the production of the Chorão biopic, set to film in 2025, with director Hugo Prata. Currently, she is working on her debut feature film, MERMAID INC, which has been selected for BrLab and has received awards from TorinoFilmLab and the film distribution company Vitrine Filmes. Duda is also rejoining the creators of Sintonia to write DISCIPLINE, a co-production between Globo and Beta Film (Germany).
Duda received the Paradiso TFL Next Award at the 14th edition of Brlab, and became part of the Talent Network.
