Fellipe Fernandes is a filmmaker from Recife, Brazil. His first short film, O Delírio é a Redenção dos Aflitos, premiered at the Critics’ Week of the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. Continuing his fictional exploration of portraying characters in crisis in urban outskirts, Fellipe released his second short film, Tempestade, in 2019 at the Tiradentes Film Festival. Rio Doce, his first feature film, premiered at the 2021 Olhar de Cinema and was acclaimed with the awards for Best Film and Best Brazilian Feature at the same festival. The film also received the top award at the Novos Rumos section of the 2021 Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival and the Fipresci Prize from the International Critics at the Toulouse Latin American Film Festival. In parallel to his personal projects, Fellipe works as an assistant director, acting coach, and script supervisor on films such as O Agente Secreto (in post-production) by Kleber Mendonça Filho, Salomé (2024) by André Antônio, Dormir de Olhos Abertos (2024) by Nele Wohlatz, Senhoritas (2024) by Mykaela Plotkin, Bacurau (2019) by Kleber Mendonça Filho and Juliano Dornelles, Sol Alegria (2018) by Tavinho Teixeira, and Aquarius (2016), also by Kleber Mendonça Filho.

Fellipe was awarded a fellowship to attend the 2024 edition of Sam Spiegel International Film Lab.
