Fernanda Vidigal is a creative and executive producer of independent film, with a degree in Cinema and Audiovisual from UNA and a specialization in Film Production from EICTV, Cuba. She is a member of APAN, Talent Paradiso Project and Talents Berlinale Guadalajara. She is the founder of the company Carapiá Filmes, which focuses on the development and production of projects by black women. She is currently producing the films The Secret of Sikán, by Everlane Moraes, The Margin Color, by Mariana Luiza, Armadillo, by Larissa Barbosa; in the distribution of the documentary Forewoman, by Bruna Piantino, (18th CineBH) and the video installation Redemption, by Mariana Luiza, (IDFA DOCLab 2023). Together with Layla Braz, she produces the Belo Horizonte Black Cinema Week, which aims to solidify black identity and encourage Brazil-Africa cultural exchange through audiovisuals, and SemanaLab, which consists of an audiovisual training space and laboratory for film projects by black people. Fernanda was awarded a fellowship to go to Conecta, Laboratório de Distribución para América Latina y el Caribe, within the Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM), in 2019.In 2025, Fernanda received support from Projeto Paradiso to participate in the Rotterdam Lab.
