Francis Vogner dos Reis has a master's degree in Audiovisual Media and Processes at ECA-USP. As a film critic, he was a contributor to several Brazilian and foreign magazines, including Revista Cinética (2006-2014) and Filme Cultura (2011). He co-authored with Jean-Claude Bernardet the book The Author in Cinema (2018). He was programmer of Cineop and CineBH and is programmer coordinator of the Tiradentes Film Festival. At CCBB he curated the Jacques Rivette and Jerry Lewis exhibitions and produced the Mostra Watson Macedo and Retrospectiva do Cinema Paulista. He is co-writer of the feature films O Jogo das Decapitações, by Sergio Bianchi (2013), O Último Trago, by Pedro Diógenes, Luiz Pretti and Ricardo Pretti (2017) and Os Sonâmbulos, by Tiago Mata Machado (2018). He is the director and screenwriter of the film The Infernal Machine (2021), which premiered at the Locarno festival in pardi di domani, and Rapina (2024, in editing).
Francis won a fellowship for First Cut Lab with the feature film project "The Hole of the Harpy", and became part of the Paradiso Talent Network.
