Giuliana Monteiro is a writer and director who started working as a producer in 2003 in Independent documentaries, feature films, and television shows. In 2011, she moved to New York City where she received her MFA in Filmmaking at the New York University, Tisch School of the Arts with a BAFTA Fellowship and the AAUW International Fellowship. Her latest award-winning short film, "I Don't Say Goodbye. I Say See You Soon" premiered at the 64th Berlinale and traveled to more than 30 International film festivals, winning best short film at the Viña del Mar International film Festival and Best screenplay at the First Run Film Festival. She is currently working on her feature film “Depois que a lama seca” (After the mud dries). The project was selected to participate in the Talent Campus (Buenos Aires 2015); Co- production Forum at the San Sebastian International Film Festival (2016); Toronto International Film Lab (2018), and the Cinequanon Screenwriters Lab (2020). The project won the Spike Lee Development grant and the SFFILM/Rainin screenwriting grant. Her latest short film, "I Don't Say Goodbye, I Say See You Soon" premiered at the 64th Berlinale and traveled to more than 30 international film festivals.

In 2020, Giuliana was awarded a fellowship to the Script Revision Lab of Cine Qua Non Lab in Mexico.
