Laís Santos Araújo (1993) is a director and screenwriter from Alagoas. She was awarded at the Berlinale (Generation 14Plus) for her short film "Infantaria". The short is also Oscar-qualified after winning the Grand Prix at the Rio de Janeiro Short Film Festival, and was selected by the Brazilian Academy of Cinema as a finalist for the for the Grande Otelo. Her films have been showcased at festivals such as Palm Springs, Cartagena, Rotterdam, Vienna Shorts, and Kaohsiung. "Marina", her debut feature project, was awarded a Hubert Bals Fund grant, was selected by CineMart and Porto Iracema das Artes, and won Best Screenplay at the Nederlands Film Festival (NFF). Laís is the screenwriter and director-assistant for the second season of the TV show "Lama dos Dias" (Canal Brasil). She is the founder of Aguda Cinema, which has financed three feature films, all in development or pre-production; among them, the feature film "Infantaria", selected and awarded at BrLab Features and CineMundi.

In 2024, Laís was selected to participate in the 6th edition of the Paradiso Incubator with the "Infantry" project.
