Born in Barrocas, Bahia, Sidjonathas Araújo is a filmmaker, researcher and member of the production company Floriô de Cinema (SE). Graduated in Cinema and Audiovisual from the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS), with a professional specialization's degree in Screenwriting from the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV), Cuba (2022-2023), and in Film Direction from the Centro Afro Carioca de Cinema (2020), Araújo develops research and projects around black cinema and Afro-diasporic cultural experiences, inspired by his black experience in the countryside. He directed the short films “Babá Eletrônica” (2018), “Se essa câmera fosse minha…” (2019) and “Corre” (2020). In 2022, with “Imã de Geladeira”, won the 4th LAB Negras Narrativas (APAN, Amazon Studios, Amazon Prime Video), with recognition at the Gramado Festival (Honorable Mention from the Jury), Black Cinema Exhibition Adélia Sampaio (Best Screenplay), Chicago Latino Film Festival, Movimento Cidade Festival (Popular Jury), Michaeux Film Festival (Best International Short Film nomination), among others. Araújo also coordinates the TO’KAYA Film Festival (BA).

Sidjonathas was selected to participate in the sixth edition of Aceleradora Paradiso and became part of the Talent Network.
